May 6th - Saint of the Day: Saint Lucius of Cyrene, Prophet & Bishop He’s only mentioned briefly in Scripture, but Saint Lucius of Cyrene was standing at one of the most explosive moments in Church history. This North African saint from Cyrene, modern-day Libya, was one of the prophets and teachers in the Church at Antioch. That means he was there when the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul” and helped launch the missionary journeys of Saint Paul. No famous speeches. No long biography. No spotlight. Just prayer. Fasting. Teaching. Discernment. Obedience. And somehow, his hidden faithfulness helped send the Gospel to the nations.
